Getting Certified – 5 Simple Ways To Find Time For Your Certification

findtimeDo you want to get certified, and need some help getting there? Then you are in the right place. You can read my previous post from this series “4 Easy Steps To Make Oracle 12c Certifiecation A Reality For You” , and “3 Reasons I Got Certified And You Should Too“, to help you in this direction. This last post in the series, will help you find the time, those 15-30 minutes every day that you need.

Time is the only thing that is equal for everybody, every single day. So how come some people have more time for certain things, while others don’t. It’s not like they have 25 hours in the day…they have the same 24 hours, 1440 minutes every day. The way they find time for what is important, is that they prioritize. So if getting certified is important for you and you make it a priority, then you will find time for it.

Here are my ways of finding time to study:

1. My favorite one is N.E.T. (No Extra Time). This acronym was created by Tony Robbins, and I use it all the time, not just for certification purposes, but for other purposes too. How many hours or minutes do we spend commuting each day? How about each week, or each month? It sure adds up. If you are using public transit, you can read while commuting, and if you are behind the wheel, you can get a kindle version of the book, and have the device read it to you.
2. Say NO to Facebook and other social media sites. How much time do you spend each day on these sites? You could study for your certification instead. If these sites are so important to you, then make sure you visit them after studying.
3. Say NO to television or video games, and use that time to study.
4. Wake up 20-30 minutes earlier each day, or go to bed 20-30 minutes later, depending if you are a morning or an evening person.
5. Use part of your lunch hour break to study.

These are all simple, easy ways to find the time, that work for me. If you have some tips on this, I would love to hear about it in the comments section!
